December is another birthday month. This week it's sisters Banrigh (Ch Drawing Down the Moon to Cusidh) and Creubhag's (Riding the Wind with Cusidh) 9th Birthday. Here they are together in August this year enjoying some Scottish sunshine. Both are now retired from showing - Creubhag somewhat earlier than Banrigh due to "non-compliance" issues (a tendency to stop frequently in the ring!) - but they are both still very much enjoying themselves and keeping the youngsters in order. UPDATE - Claire has asked that it's known that Creubhag did actually manage to receive a stud book (1770C) number and produce a lovely litter of puppies. Ronan (Cusidh Homecoming) is her son. She is also now a Granny. So she's not totally thrawn honest!

Next week it will also be Styx's (Brylach Over the Broomstick with Cusidh) 2nd Birthday. Happy Birthday girls.

New for 2013 is our latest Christmas Card - "The Night Before Christmas" by Artist Julia Reid. We hope you like it.

The Night Before Christmas

To keep you in the Christmas mood why not have a look here for further ideas.

This month it's Happy Birthday to Wee Dram (Cusidh Drawing Down the Sun), Grian (Cusidh Ring Around the Sun), Cusidh Treacle Moon at Chapeltower and Rosie (Cusidh Dreaming Spirit). Their first year has flown by. After a difficult start - see here for their arrival at Lomond Hills Veterinary Clinic they are all doing well and thoroughly enjoying themselves. Wee Dram and Treacle Moon live in England now. Treacle Moon with Jennefer Cooper (Chapeltower Deerhounds) in Hay-on-Wye and Wee Dram in Milton Keynes with the English Clan Cusidh contingent.

Here's a snapshot of their recent activities. As ever a huge thank you to Tricia Macpherson, who together with Angus Macpherson, delivered the Cusidh puppies and has taken all these wonderful photos.

Here's Rosie and Grian out and about in Fife. They are about 5 months old in these photos.

We are absolutely delighted to announce that Cusidh Ard Toirnis is now an International Show Champion. Congratulations.

Toirnis is owned by Kielo Oksanen and lives in Finland with Kielo and her family and other Sandmanscots hounds. We are very proud of everything they have achieved. More details of Toirnis' wins can be seen here and his last CACIB win was in Sweden. The FCI still have to confirm but it is safe to say that everyone here is delighted. Well done Toirnis and Kielo.

It's been a couple of years or so since the last photos of Clan Cusidh and there's been a few new arrivals so we thought it about time to have another go. First up are actually the "smalls" who complained that the weren't included last time! Claire has run St Hubert's Hound Sanctuary for over 20 years and although now scaled down there are still hounds to help and some that have never left! Here's Claire Cartmell on the left with Blue who is a male Whippet * Bedlington currently looking for a home, Ian with his Lurcher Birkie, Elise with Gypsy and finally Lachlan with his Lurcher Hettie. All of these dogs came in as rescue dogs. They are just fantastic and manage to keep the Deerhounds in their place.
