Flying the flag for Clan Cusidh at the Breed Show this year was Cusidh Homecoming (Ronan). He won Limit Dog on the Saturday and the Special Rotherwood Stakes on the Sunday. In between he had to keep his errant off-spring (Cusidh Drawing Down the Sun - Wee Dram and Cusidh Dreaming Spirit - Rosie) under control. Not an easy task I assure you. Back in the ring was also Brylach Over the Broomstick with Cusidh (Styx) who loved her weekend and was 3rd in Undergraduate Bitch.

Here's Ronan below.

Ok so it's probably not the best analogy but Cusidh related International Show Champions have been a bit like buses honest. None at all and then two came along at once: first Int Ch Cusidh Ard Toirnis; and then Int Ch Brisley Brae Druid. Therefore, we are currently waiting for the third bus and perhaps we've found it - introducing the Redbrook puppies from Germany. The Redbrook kennels are run by May-Britt Jorder, Lars Schaub and Joachim and Brigitte Faenger and are based in the Munich area of Germany. On 1st February '14 their bitch Ceithir of Redbrook gave birth to 10 puppies (six boys and four girls) sired by Cusidh Homecoming (Ronan). Please click here for their blog with more details. All are doing well and the pups are now out and about enjoying the Spring weather. We wish the Redbrook kennel well with their lovely litter.

So back to buses and what do you think about the future for this cool dude? Could he be the third one?

Well that's Crufts 2014 over. Not a vintage year in terms of results but we had a great time nevertheless. A wonderful highlight was taking Ruairidh (Ruairidh MacRatha of Cusidh***) to his first Crufts. He is our Greyhound outcross boy who in 2012 was registered by the KC under their pilot scheme for dogs of unverified parentage. He had a super time, was impeccably well behaved and was placed V.H.C. in post graduate dog (with 10 dogs present)!

Here's the 2014 Crufts Clan Cusidh below. The girls are with Elise - on the far left is Banrigh (Ch Drawing Down the Moon to Cusidh) who after her previous Crufts wins this time formed part of the 2014 support team. She wasn't entered but did try and pass on her hints and tips for success to the youngsters. All listened, apart from Rosie (Cusidh Dreaming Spirit) who is next to Banrigh and who was quite determined not to behave on the day - running all over the place apart from Elise's chosen direction of travel in the ring! Styx (Brylach Over the Broomstick with Cusidh) was the second member of the support team and came away from Crufts with a snazzy new harness and lead set from EzyDog UK. Styx always wears a harness following her incident with a tree! The boys are with Claire. Ronan (Cusidh Homecoming) was there trying to keep his son (Wee Dram) and daughter (Rosie) in check. Ronan was 4th in Limit. Ruairidh, is the middle of the three boys with Wee Dram (Cusidh Drawing Down the Sun), who was 2nd in Special Junior, at the end.

And here's Ruairidh in the ring - quite an historic achievement. Well done Ruairidh and congratulations to everyone.

Well, here's Wee Dram (Cusidh Drawing Down the Sun) as you've never seen him before. It's his new look for Crufts. Good luck to everyone exhibiting.

Bella is still waiting for her new home. She's settling in well now with the other dogs. Her favourite is Rhymer (Cusidh Gaidhealtachd) who she's seen with below amongst the Craigend mud! She's a Deerhound cross and is 15 months old and 29 - 30 inches in height. If you are interested please contact Claire (This email address is being protected from spambots.
